Ryantown*
worked for rob ryan over at his studio in bethnal green, it was a great day that really invigorated and inspired me after feeling lack luster from graduation. i worked in the print room making bags for the ryan town christmas opening, it was good to be printing again. also through my day i got to meet some lovely and exciting people, including the owner of "it's nice that" and many others.

Alumni*
found this the other day, a print from 4-5 years ago from my time at canterbury college. i miss screen printing a lot and i really want to get back into it, but not being a student anymore has its price, it's a pretty hard thing... it's frustrating as i have big ambitions and avenues i want to explore in this media at the moment.

screen printing foxes
Today me and drew worked all day in the print room at Camberwell, To kick start our 14-week plan handed to us by our course leader, we started experimenting with printing on t-shirts for the potential future project and sale. The results were quite nice, my stencils didn't quite match up on the fabrics, i think the ink must shave shrunk a little under the heat of the hairdryer because the prints on card were spot on. But like drew said, it adds to the hand made approach to the whole thing. If you'd like to buy any one of these t-shirts we're making, please feel free to e-mail me at joerolph@hotmail.com and in the near future, we might be possibly setting up a shop front online.

america
3 day project with freelance illustrator JAKe (http://www.jake-art.com/) on a randomly selected newsclippings, i was given an article on the american ellections;
'McCain attacks Obamas tax and spending policys'.
It was quite intresting to pull some quotes from the Republican side, they were hinting that Obama has 'Socialist ideals' and 'Pals around with terrorists'. These are my three final images.

industry report
Here is a few InDesign documents from my end of year Industry report, we had to create a 24 page (11 spreads/ cover & back) book thats to be bound accordingly. As I'm not a Graphic Designer, i enjoyed the challenge of trying to understand typographic hierarchy and layout, even using the grid system and InDesign was a completely new process to me. These are to be French Fold, this was simply to avoid using a pagination chart. This books now to be sent to the printers and book binders, I'm interested to see the final thing will look like.
